Austin grew up in Oregon and attended a Catholic church as a child. After high school he considered himself a non-believer. He came to faith in Jesus Christ later in life after meeting his future wife, Allison, who was part of a faithful church of devoted Christians. He was baptized in 2019. Austin and Allison have two children. Austin works as a civil engineer for a local city government. He enjoys trail running, mountain biking, and playing games with his kids.
